Hola chica! (Cause I like the way it sounds!)

Cause work can be too much fun, the gym too exciting, home so productive I needed a place to store my soon to be patented only on the tv guide channel ideals.

political scientist...

ok
every so often my intellectual, trained analytical side pops out...
Its not as fun as my celebrity gossip postings, musings about reality tv nor obsessions on cats and food. Despite my fluff I actually read the news regularly, watch the news channes(only at the gym) and keep up with the latest happenings in the economy, politics and social issues. I just hid it really well. Because:

I am a political Scientist. Sigh...I'd much rather be a rodeo clown. But I get excited in October, because thats when the Supreme Court heres their cases. And I get excited in the summer cause thats when they announce their rulings. Elections on any level makes me tingle. It's just a part of me...

So the reason for this post:

Breaking News!
GM TO CUT 25,000 MANUFACTURING JOBS!!!!!
yes folks, this is bad....really bad.
Hey Bush! um....about that little thing called the economy.... I think you might wanna check it out.
(maybe its because of 9/11.)

As for the recent Supreme Courts recently ruling outlawing medical marijuana.
People are not really looking at the issues involved.
This has little to do with the use of marijuana to ease pain and the issue of choice.
This isn't a ruling on a social issue or even a medical issue.
Its just a snazzier version of the continuing battle between states rights and federal rights.

We are a government where federal laws supercede all state rights. This is why the Civil War was fought. This is why parts of Minnesota and Maine want to secede today. This is why states are so dependent on federal funding for large social programs.

Despite the good it does, marijuana is illegal under federal law. And this is the only item the Supreme Court can consider. Let us remember that at least one of these judges has cancer. One is recovered. And the most liberal of judges were in the majority.

Here is the ruling :if you would like to read it.
